Hello all,
I have a Home Base without a power source and documentation.
I would like to know what power supply should I use as input to Home Base? What is the standard source from iRobot?

1) Would a 24V/1A power supply be good for me?
2) The home base says that on the output contacts (the two pads for iRobot) voltage is only under 5V. So how does the home base charge the accupack in the robot with 14.4 volts? Is there a step-up converter and the charger inside of robot?
3) I still am not sure which cells I should use if I want to build my own accupack. Can I use AA NiMH cells, or do the cells have to be the Sub-C format? If sub-C is necessary is it because of the higher current draw?

Thanks guys.

Use the official iRobot robot charger with the Home Base. I would not recommend trying to build your own charger or battery pack.

The 5V you mention is just the voltage seen across the terminals when a robot is not charging. A higher voltage is used to actually charge the battery.
